Bio

 


Valentina comes from a strict family that supports the ideals of Gray Order. She's the middle kid from a trio of accomplished siblings, her older brother being a successful business man at the young age of 24 and her little brother a prodigy student. Valentina was usually compared to her brothers as she failed to deliver results as outstanding as them. Of course, this permitted both brothers to belittle her and make fun of her countless times.  Her parents didn't go easy on her either, locking her in her room for her to pull all nighters studying and forbidding her to make any friends, as they would just compromise her studying. However, she discovered she was skilled at physical activities that required a big amount of stamina. For this reason she enrolled in a military academy to make her parents proud and also make her brothers finally acknowledge her. 

Valentina made noticeable progress since her early days as a cadet. A pleasant surprise was to find out she was a talented sniper and it wasn't long before she became one of the best of her division. Also for the first time she made friends, people that were the same as her. It was a nice change of pace to get rid of her parents constant pressure and just have a normal conversation with other teenagers of the same age.

During a simulation exercise, Valentina's division encountered a group of fugitive with the so dreaded by everyone "Color Syndrome" while driving to the simulation location, and as expected of future members of Silverlight's army not even one of them hesitated to engage in combat. Unfortunately their weapons were at the back of the trucks so the only choice left was to fight barehanded. She managed to land a good amount of hits against her opponent, but the moment she punched the fugitive's face blood scattered on her fists. She stopped fighting as panic consumed her the moment she saw her achromatic hands dripping with bright pink fluids. She knew what this meant, everyone knew what that meant and who wouldn't? All the warning they were given in their everyday lives about this dangerous virus and the consequences that came for the ones infected. 

It still hunts her the image of her dear friends and instructors pointing their guns at her. She got lucky they hesitated for a couple of seconds before shooting her, giving her the chance to run and hide. Valentina was scared and at a loss of what to do now that she was a target anywhere she went. She could never return home as her parents would rather turn her to Gray Order than having an atrocity under their roof.
She knew she would never survive on her own, not now that she was cured with color so she decided to gamble on the only possible way of survival. She sneaked into the training facilities to free the fugitives they had encountered earlier to free them and succeeded, only coming out barely alive (She gives credit to that particular Toxic Citrus member with high luck). The fugitives were still bittersweet about the previous beating, but as no one got killed and she had rescue them they decided to guide her to Kaleidoscope. Valentina stopped seeing her Color Syndrome as a curse but as a waking up call to help fix this corrupted city with its blinded citizens.

Valentina may strike to most as a distant and antisocial person, not that her aloofness comes for no reason. After her friends and mentors at the military academy pointed their guns at her she has trouble socializing with others so she's usually very reserved, even though she knows her fellow gang members would never betray each other. Whenever she actually has a conversation with someone else, she very honest and direct to the paint it may hit a nerve for some. She doesn't like to go around in circle and will rather go straight to the point than sugar coat things and appreciates if you do the same with her. Growing in that kind of household and later going to the military academy, Valentina is used to competing to be the very best and she will not be satisfied with being No 2. However, she has an habit of admiring with a burning passion those who are overwhelmingly strong and it is only in that kind of situation she will not sulk over a loss. Also patience is an important quality of a sniper,as the most remain calm and still until their target is on position. She believes she can do this thank to the fact that she never snapped at their parents or siblings at home, so she has pride on her tolerance level specially when dealing with troublesome people.

Trivia

- She has a complex over her height and that's why she wears heels (only exception: during battles)
- Used to bite her nails. Now she eats gum 24/7 to avoid going back to that bad habit
